Young is located to the west of Little Manitou Lake on Hwy #2, 22 km south of the Yellowhead hwy #16. Young is located in the RM of Morris #312.
Agriculture is vital to the economy of nearly every community in Saskatchewan. Young serves a diverse agricultural base, with crops including red spring wheat, barley, flax, canola, mustard, oats, lentils and peas.
There are a number of livestock producers in the area. The livestock enterprises vary from those utilizing areas of pasture and marginal land to intensive dairy and hog operations.
The Mosaic Potash mine is located north of Young and employs a large number of the residents.
